The beginning of 'North' was quite gentle, and had a strange sort of familiar tone to it. As the writing progressed, the tone became more full with emotions of anger and hatred, but still had a hint of truthfulness about it. It's an interesting interpretation of a slightly 'futuristic' world, but I felt that that idea was too clear for the reader - perhaps it could have been suggested rather than pointed out. Overall, the writing, themes, and particularly the development of feelings and characters were well put together and thought out.
