I had read the first book in this series. It a long time ago. I decided that I didn’t want to do a reread so I dived straight into North.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it bought back memories of the first book. I would say that you could read this without the first and quickly pick it up.
My favourite thing about this book is the world building element of it. I really loved seeing it develop. The writing style of the author really helps emerge the reader into the world and at points it’s difficult to decipher yourself from the book and the real world.
The only thing that I would say that I didn’t necessarily enjoy about this book was that it was quite slow paced and at points I found the plot pointless.
However all in all I did enjoy this and I would recommend.
