The book North was an interesting story about a country (USA) which had been split in half after a civil war. The North half had win the war but only due to the south getting a disease. The whole of the US even though divided is controlled by one person who is a big dictator from the winning side. The story is set in first person and it starts with a mother writing down her though to her unborn child. A child in which she hopes will grow up in a better world away from all of the violence. This child then grows up to start searching for a cure for the disease which is terrifying the south. It is the second book in a series with the first (south ) being about the war and the start of the disease.
