I liked the sense of place and the convincing portrayal of family life but feel this book requires quite a commitment to follow the descriptive narrative in the hope of arriving at some satisfying, perhaps illuminating, conclusion. The cover is not giving much away and seems to tie in with the themes of time and space explored in the writing.
