Although this book is on a topic that fascinates me and I was immediately drawn in by the plot alone, I found I kept taking breaks from reading this book due to how complex and descriptive the text is.
I am not used to the style this book is written in and found I was re-reading parts because I wasn't taking it all in.
This is by no means a bad thing, it is a beautifully written tale and gets to the deep heart of the characters lives. For me, it was just a little too heavy.
I did put this book down a few times and read other books in between but I still felt attached to the story and needed to know what happened next.
I would recommend this book if you're looking for a heavy, emotional read. but perhaps not the easy, post-Christmas read I was expecting!
