I wanted to love this book, the blurb and the summary were great. The cover is beautiful. The beginning of the book drew me right in, family life, usual bothers, some bits falling apart and a huge tragedy engulfs them.
Shootings in US schools are getting more and more common - but still tragic. Although the general focus of the book is not really about this - it isn't an anti-gun book as such as it deals with the aftermath and one family's disintegration and fight to be a family, or not.
So the first quarter of the book is great - sets up the story, introduces you to the characters, gets you to know them in their everyday life and then tells you about the tragedy.
For me, it went down hill from there and I was really bored by half way through, it just didn't maintain the interest of the focus for me.
Disappointing :-(
