I have to say, I loved the narrative of this book, the way the tone changed, especially in Oliver's chapters. I love Oliver's mind. The authors mind for that matter.

There are twisted, heart rendering moments, the emotional impact of situations hitting hard. And all that guilt. Coming from all those people. Not being able to speak about such things as well.

My favourite parts were when it went into the past, and that delivered and explored the questions I had when reading.

I enjoyed reading this. I guess it might be a bit heavy for some. It includes themes such as: abuse of power (and abuse overall - implied not vivid), homosexuality (in Charlie's -Oliver's brothers- case), etc. It was good to see that about Charlie and follow the perspectives of a good range of characters. Eve, Oliver's mum you could certainly empathise with. Jed, his father, you also come to understand. Charlie, Rebekkah, even Hector and Margot, they all play a pivotal role and are characters that you'll gain empathy for.

All you need to know is that the ending, no matter how heartbreaking the journey, will offer relief.
