'Oliver Loving' isn't really the kind of book I'd pick up usually, but I really enjoyed taking a break from my usual fare and reading this instead. It's a haunting story of devastation - and hope - told through absolutely gorgeous prose and engaging, thought-provoking narratives.
As it revolves around a school shooting, it is so incredibly relevant to our current society. Attention is drawn to the consequences on the crime on individuals, showing just how devastating such actions can be. It is an incredible novel, and Stefan Merill Block crafts such sad events with an eye to detail and characterisation that really makes this novel wonderful. It is all so tangible and genuine. Truly, incredibly, wonderful.
