While I try and be a patient person, when it comes to reading books, I am not. I like fast-paced adventure, gripping psychological thrillers that have me turning the pages at an inhumane speed and biting my fingernails down till they're at the verge of bleeding.

This book did not do that for me.

In hindsight, I should have considered this before entering the draw for this book. But it was the synopsis that really got me for this book - it sounded so gripping, so interesting, so up my street.

I liked the way we saw a change in those affected by the school shooting in the years that follow it. It had a very strong and emotional message too: one that said you can choose to turn off your TV and just not watch, but for the people who are affected by these things, they have no other option. Their lives are changed forever.

So, while I struggled to finish this book, and the slow pace was not for me, I also think that this book was written well and the ending was very intense and dramatic. I think for me it was just the build-up to that point!
