I know Wilbur Smith is hugely popular, but his novels don't appeal to me....and neither does this non-fiction offering.
The cover is off-putting to me, and while I read a fair amount of non-fiction I stick to those about subjects and people I'm interested in, and this just doesn't spark me at all. Possibly ones for fans of his novels, but not me.
