I can't say i have read many of his books but i wanted to read this book as it was a biography and shares stories that have influenced his books.
If you expect a biography about his private life, wives, family etc you might be disappointed as this only gets mentioned on a rare occasion. This book is more of how he became a writer and experiences that have inspired his writing and books.
Its truly fascinating, growing up in Africa it's just full of stories and no wonder he has written so many books.
It was a joy to read and i look forward to becoming a fan of his work!
