When I started reading novels, among the first writers I read about was Wilbur Smith and James Hadley Chase. I read about Wilbur Smith in 1990s as a young African boy growing up in Kenya. During those days, getting the comfort of reading a new novel was nonexistent. So as young boys, we used to borrow novels from friends who had relatives working in big cities and who had the opportunity of buying pre-owned (secondhand) books that were sold along the streets. Back to Wilbur Smith..why him? Why you ask me? I connected with him as he was born in Africa like myself. And nearly all his titles have a surprisingly look of various African setting. The first book By Wilbur Smith that I read was Birds of Prey. Then I read another of his many books, When the Lion feeds and I was hooked to the writer. I would like to read this biography.
