Having read many of Wilbur Smith's books and being engrossed by the excellent storytelling it was a great insight into how he came by the stories and developed his career as an author.
It is a great book explaining from Wilbur Smith's early childhood and family life and experiences he, his family and friends had in South Africa which enabled him to develop as an author and the ups and downs of his life and which stories were conceived from these experiences. The photographs were fantastic and only wished there had been more!
It also gave me the wish to re-read his many books to understand better the storyline and the experiences which created those masterpieces.
I look forward to the next book which is due to come out in September.
