Firstly, biography’s are not normally my kind of book however the first look of On Leapord Rock sparked my interest as it gave the book the Iook of an adventurous and interesting biography.
However in reality I really struggled to get into this book. It is more a collection of memoirs of Wilbur Smiths life, mainly the aspects of which fuelled his career in writing, rather than an autobiography. I also found the fleeting way in which Wilbur Smith visits various different points in his life made it very hard to follow.
I do love the beautiful and colourful cover of this book as it immediately sets the scene for an adventurous read.
I would imagine this book would make a great read for those who are fans of Wilbur Smiths previous books and those that are more comfortable with reading this style of writing. Unfortunately this book just wasn’t for me.
