Absolutely loved the First Look at this new novel. Very reminiscent of The Love Songs of WEB Du Bois, which I also loved. The use of the vernacular is very effective and gives great authenticity to Denene Millner's writing. These characters spring to life off the page, leaving me wanting to know about them and their story!
