This is a compelling read, I was interested in all the characters and their different stories. It was fascinating to think about how the experiences of each generation affect the one after, particularly those of women. I love novels that span time and space, and this one definitely did that. The very early part was a bit confusing and I didn't quite follow who everyone was, but the later part was an easy read and enjoyable for it. There are a few twists along the way that I didn't see coming, and some questions remain unanswered - such is life!
I'd recommend it to people who like plot-focused reads, with emphasis on strong women and how the deal with the hand life throws at them.
The cover is bold but not personal - I think it might work better if there were more people represented on it, this is the story of mothers and their lives, and I'm not sure I glean that from the cover.
