One blood by Denene Millner is a novel covering 3 women from the 60s to 2004.
The first, Grace, is a young women in segregated Virginia who lives through her family being attacked and her mum killed. She is sent to live with her great aunt who uses her as an unpaid servant. Falling in love, her baby is taken from her to be adopted.
The second character, Lolo,is the women who adopts the baby. She has also lived through tough times but now lives with her loving husband though she is unable to have children.
The third character, Rae, is the baby given up for adoption who works hard to get what she wants from life. However is this truly what she wants.
Grace, Lolo and Rae all have to go through different hardships to find what they truly want from life.
This novel kept me reading as even though it covered some hard subjects I was always rooting for these 3 women. I liked the way their stories intertwined.
