I'm not sure what it is about the opening chapters of this book but it just doesn't sit right with me. There is scope with Nettleton for a reasonable storyline to unfurl but I'm afraid De Guise appears to be a rather objectionable man. Also, I'm not sure where in Lancashire Nettleton is from but mountain tarns? Really? Trust me, we have big hills but no mountains here and if she is near Morecambe (as is suggested) then still no.
When I saw this book on here I immediately wondered who the Ghost Writer was but having read this I do actually believe that Mr Du Beke has written it which has surprised me a little.
