The story of the Buckingham Hotel, it’s workers and occupants totally enthralled me. Set during the rise of Nazi power it opens your eyes to a different side of what happened, particularly behind the scenes of a large hotel. I loved the range of characters and finding out a bit about them now and their past. I particularly enjoy Anton’s writing style and how he sets the scene so well it actually has you believing you are watching the comings and goings from the corner. Raymond De Guise was my favourite character and had many sides to him and his history was particularly interesting. Nancy was definitely an intriguing character and I’d have loved to know lots more about her. Overall very enjoyable.
