This was so much better than I expected it to be! If you love Downton Abbey, drama, intrigue, secrets, you'll be sure to love this. It's written so well and perfectly for the time period.

It follows quite a few different characters:
Raymond de Guise - the main ballroom dancer at the hotel, who's not entirely honest about his background.
Heléné Marchmont - Raymond's dancing partner, past actress, who's keeping a bit secret of her own.
Nancy Nettleton - a new chambermaid at the hotel, such a sweet, endearing character who only cares too much about others, and finds herself entrants by both the dance floor and Raymond.
Billy Brogan - a page boy who runs secret errands for the hotel guests and is privy to every secret.
Maynard Charles - the hotel director who has secrets of his own (I came to like him later on).
Vivienne Edgerton - Lord Edgerton's step daughter, a girl who'll resort to bribes to get what she wants but has a lot more going on under that perfect spoiled demeanor.

So many characters and all of them are portrayed well and vividly. I can't fault the plot or characterisation at all. Bit by bit everything starts to unravel with this, story and characters alike.
