Historical fiction isn’t usually the genre I would typically chose to read myself. Having said that I have read a few and enjoyed them. Being a fan of Anton Du Beke’s when I heard he had started writing novels I decided to buy a copy and read it.
I must say it was a pleasure to read and made a change from my usual genres. I think it’s important to branch out now and again because there are so many fabulous books out there.
This book is set in the grand Buckingham Hotel which is described so well you can imagine it in your mind, it seems wonderfully decadent, posh and the perfect setting for this tale.
The characters are absolutely brilliant, the storyline is well thought out developed wonderfully. The ending was perfect but it leaves a lot of scope for there to be more novels in the future...
I’d happily read more of this kind of book in the future.
