This is a very strong start to the novel. However, I expected nothing less from the author. Having read a couple of Ms Bond's books I know that she has a wonderfully empathetic writing style that effortlessly burrows inside people and exposes all that they are no matter how that juxtaposes with how they pretend to be. This book appears to be up there with her previous novels in this regard.
