Strong character identity and a serious topics covered
I like how the book introduces characters allowing us to get a strong idea of their personality and identity.
The book appears to cover a topic ‘drink driving’ which is a topic which isn’t covered enough. However I believe the author covers this in a sensitive manner and already shows how it can affect different people.
I haven’t read a book where the living room light is referred to as ‘the big light’ and I thought it was great that the author called it this as even a small detail like this makes a novel seem more like a real situation as many people call it the big light.
The cover is lovely with sunflowers however I’m currently not sure how it relates though this may become more apparent in the book but it would definitely tempt me to read the blurb and purchase.
