The opening chapters gradually build up a tangled emotional scene that left me wanting to find out more about the accident. There is a deliberate sense of distance in the perspective and a feeling of holding back in the narrative that builds up a keen sense of anticipation. I am left waiting, gripped and intrigued, for the full story to unfold.
