At first I wasn't entirely sure I wanted to read this. It sounded all too real. All too full of real life. But I'm stretching myself. Spreading my wings, "literally" speaking.... So I gave the first few pages a go.

I couldn't stop reading. It felt like I was galloping through it, the pace was fast and the story unfolding quickly. Or so I thought.

When I considered it, however, I realised that the clever way in which the story is written made me feel that it was moving at speed, whilst, actually, it's unfurling gently. The story is revealed small piece by small piece because it shows different people's reactions to the same small point in time, with very small increments. It takes pages to work though a few hours of one night because it shows different characters reactions to the same incident but inches forward very gently at the same time.

It's very real. Very tight. Very well described and observed. The individual reactions are all too imaginable and I could, absolutely, see myself in the position of a couple of the characters. I shall be reading more!
