I thoroughly enjoyed this book, devoured it over the space of one sunny day!
Essentially it’s a story following the fallout after a car accident, in which 4 teenagers are affected. As the parents get called to the hospital they have to come to terms with the damage wrought on their kids.
Ironically the driver, Harry, has walked away virtually injury free - however he doesn’t escape the consequences of the event as he is charged by the police.
When one of them dies though it’s a whole new level for the teens and their parents to cope with. Feelings of guilt are overwhelming and with the real prospect of marriages falling apart can the group learn how to live again.
It’s poignant but strangely life affirming. A real joy to read.
