From the first pages we are diving straight into the climax: the accident.

This book reminds of Jay Neugeboren‘s quote: “A wife who loses a husband is called a widow.
A husband who loses a wife is called a widower.
A child who loses his parents is called an orphan.
There is no word for a parent who loses a child.
That’s how awful the loss is.”

There is a rollercoaster of emotions already going on, from fear, panic and guilt, to relief and hope. An incident like this happening in a community has the power to divide previous relationships and connections between people. Emotions are expressed differently, from uncontrollable sobbing to stone-cold silence, introducing a brief emotional presentation of the characters to the reader. The author uses a very descriptive type of writing, immersing the reader into the incident.

This is a book with a powerful impact, with a multitude of emotional nuances and a potentially a twisted plot.
