Life turns on a dime.

This book, and not just the title, reminds me of a quote from 11/22/63 by Stephen King:

“Life turns on a dime. Sometimes towards us, but more often it spins away, flirting and flashing as it goes: so long, honey, it was good while it lasted, wasn’t it?”

Of course, I have read other reviews. None of them seem to mention Pete… or his cat. And yet, and yet… it was important, and I liked this touch.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this (despite the annoying typo’s), and I particularly liked how the organ donation was woven into the story, not just the harrowing decision but also how the question arose. There were so many clues and answers woven cleverly into this story.

Sadly, I wasn’t totally happy with the ending. I wasn’t happy with Fran’s ‘epiphany’ in contrast to Dom becoming “an observer, not a participant”. Still it was not my story to tell.

I think, if I had teenagers, I would give this to them to read.

Thank you to Readers First, Corvus and Caroline Bond for the ARC in return for my honest review.
