Although this is thought-provoking, and sensitively written about an awful situation that would lead any parent to think 'What if....?' I was left feeling deflated and disappointed.
There are some jarring errors that should have been picked up in the editing proof-reading process....I don't think the term 'Upper Sixth' has been commonly used for years and certainly not in a higher education college....
I found myself sighing at the way characters were written so stereotypically - Dom's character arc in particular was such a cliche, as was the relationship between Fran and Marcus - I know sometimes cliches exist because they are true but it just felt predictable in this context and the whole thing played out exactly as I imagined it would from the first few chapters.
