I can sum up my first impression of this book in one word - intriguing! On first impressions I’m intrigued as to what happened the child and what the holiday entails. Although, part of me thinks it may be too heavy going for me as I like to read before going to sleep and I’m pretty sure this would keep me awake - perfect for a holiday read though!. Also I don’t think the front cover portrays the excitement and thrill that the blurb does. I wouldn’t pick the book up from the cover but upon reading the blurb I would consider it.
