This book was gripping as it was very well written. The grief that the family are feeling literally drips off the page, drawing the reader in.

The story follows the Flowers family who are reeling from the death of three-year-old Ruby May.

For the one year anniversary the entire family decide to go to Italy in order to mark the occasion but not be reminded of that fateful day.

However, things are not quite what they seem, and throughout the book we are drip fed little snippets about the day.

The book is narrated by Nick, Ruby-May's uncle and Amy, her mother providing two perspectives of a harrowing event, as well as the intrigues and secrets of the family.

This is a great summer read, moving and chilling.
