One Year Later is the story of a family who one year prior lost their child in a terrible accident. When I started reading this book the mystery of what happened was what drew me into the book but although I still wanted to know the truth the book didn't grip me as much as I thought. I like how the story was written from two perspectives, the mother and the uncle, as this gives it a unique take as many books would typically be written from the mothers perspective. The way grief was shown in the book made it sad to read at times but it was also cleverly done and made you feel for the characters. Although there were some twists in the book I hadn't expected I did find it quite slow to read and not as interesting as I'd thought it would be. It is an okay book but I didn't enjoy it as much as I was expecting to.
