This is an ideal holiday read. It's good and the story moves at a good pace. I felt for the characters and cared about what happened. There's some good twisting and turning too and at times I was gripped, desperate to find out the truth. I also liked that it was written in parts from the uncle's point of view, rather than the traditional pulling at heart strings if it had been written from the mother's perspective. This way there was the emotion but it also felt like a thriller too. I found the way the family dealt with the grief really interesting and in some ways would have liked more depth on that. However, loved the tense, psychological thriller aspect too...things are never quite the way we expect!
