This book was a pleasant surprise for me. I was expecting it to be a bit boring and one dimensional but I really enjoyed it. The emotions from all the characters felt raw and real which I was impressed by. My favourite bits were from the uncle's perspective as I think they were much more interesting. They managed to be more observational yet still have the emotional depth they needed. I knew there was a twist coming, and I think I probably could have worked it out if I had applied myself. However, I didn't and it was all the better for it.
I devoured this book in only one day! I think it would make the perfect summer read if you want a little bit more grit to keep your attention but don't want to have to concentrate too much! I would highly recommend.
