Alf and Letty bond over dancing and being the only two English speaking pupils in an Italian class. I like the split view - I found myself wondering whether Letty had noticed Alf the same way he had noticed her. Romance stories work well when the perspectives are split between characters, especially when the story spans past, present and future, because it feeds into the 'will they, won't they?' questions by the reader.

The descriptions of Rome make me wish I was on holiday. I wouldn't have picked up the book based on the blurb, but I'm glad I did read the first few pages because it did gauge my interest. Will they, won't they get together? Initially, it sounded like every other novel, but I'm intrigued what brings the pair to Italy, and what makes them depart.

The cover is bland. I wouldn't look twice at it, which is a shame. Where are the Italian references, if the Rome is the centre of the story? After all, it is where they met! The couple look very La La land - perhaps foreshadowing the end of the story...?
