I was so happy when I won this book and so grateful that the publishers still sent it despite the current lockdown. This is because this book has stopped me going mad through the boredom of not being able to go out. Also the lovely weather helped because I have spent many happy hours sitting in my back garden reading this lovely story and forgetting what is going on in the world at the moment.
That is not to say that the book did not have a dark side to it because it did. The main characters are two lovely young people who meet at a language school in Rome . They originally make friends because they are the only ones in the class who come from England. Apart from that they do not appear to have had much in common except for the reasons that they both went to Rome in the first place.
They do not realise, to begin with, how they are linked through other people that they know. As the story unfolds we learn how their lives were sort of connected before they even met.
