This was a lovely heart-warming read especially during the current situation and while shielding. This is the first of this authors books I have read and I have since discovered I had her first book miss you in my pile so that is going to be my next read. Only you is a tale of Alf and Letty who meet while they are both in Rome escaping from events in their lives and is written in 3 parts looking at their pasts, present and future which I will leave the reader to discover for fear of spoilers. The author has also as well as writing a heart warming love story about the relationship between two young people has cleverly interwoven other important topics into the story particularly that of eating disorders and mental health.

Reading this also took me back to that life changing day over 20 years ago when I received my own A level results and the path that I have taken since and reminded me of it as though it was yesterday in her descriptions, which transported me back to what it was like to be the same age as Alf and Letty and the life changing decisions that young people have to make.

Rome is a place that I have on my wish list of places that I want to visit so was lovely to hear more about it and to read the places that Alf and Letty visited whilst there, and the way that the book has been written with its descriptions and narrative made feel like I was actually there with them.

I am pleased to have discovered another new author and looking forward to now reading Kate Eberlen's debut novel miss you next and eagerly await the next books she writes.
