Slow to get into but worth it
It took me a while to get into this book but it was worth the effort. We are introduced to Letty and Alf who meet in an English class in Rome.
He is a tour guide, and she is there for a trip and doesn't seem to want to connect.
As the story unwinds we are introduced to both their families, their backgrounds, their problems and their secrets. There are a series of unfortunate events which leads them both to Rome at that particular time.
The author builds the characters well producing believable, flawed, realistic human beings, which is refreshing in a romance novel. Add to that the beautiful setting of Rome, and ballroom dancing and romance is bound to bloom.
A nice summer read with a little more depth than a lot of romance novels.
