This book was a really slow starter for me. It took me the longest time to want to sit down and force my way through the first one hundred pages. it was interesting it was. It just was not unputdownable It was simply two people in Italy learning the Italian language and it wasn't really for me in the beginning.
There really did seem at a point we were just learning lots of random extra details about the characters that did not seem necessary to the story. The chapters seem written from the characters points of view as the headings dictate. however I found that they would switch to which character we were talking about mid chapter it did seem a little all over the place in the start.
I did hear many rave reviews and I hate DNFing books so I persevered. I am glad I did because I finally understood all those extra details and the characters themselves seemed so full of life because of this.
It was a heartwarming read and placed me elsewhere rather than my cold living room. Nobody can travel right now physically thus the ability to travel in books that are well-written is the best ability to have.
