Open Arms is the first novel by the new Lib Dems Leader Vince Cable.
The story covering UK/ India political issues with an under current of terrorism should have resulted in a very good novel but unfortunately this book doesn't manage that.
The characters are paper thin and difficult to engage with and the story is just a muddle and at times very much a secondary issue to the author's policital views - I know that he didnt vote for Brexit and that he doesn't like it but do we really need the repeating?
The story is told in the third person which doesn't help and jumps forward without any increase in the suspense or tension.
So Mr Cable I am afraid that you should have fine much better.
