By the end, this book was so wholesome and heart-warming - and the friendships, and familial relationships were such shining examples of Good Relationships™. Which is such a juxtaposition to the main romantic relationship in the book - which is toxic and heart-wrenching - heart-wrenching especially because Sutherland managed to make me care about both members of the relationship. Which, if I had to pick just one reason to love this book, would be the reason why I will cherish this book. The love interest (Grace) is so damaged and in so much pain throughout the book, that to see her get a happy ending where she recovers for herself, and genuinely starts to get better, was lovely.
I loved this book - loved the characters, loved the character growth - and loved the general development of the plot. One of my favourite reads of the year.
