The cover is what caught my attention.
I usually stick to fantasy romance but I picked this up because of how beautiful the cover and title are. It was such a pleasant surprise; the writing is so poetic and lovely without being overly complicated. The characters are absolutely wonderful to get to know and see their relationship develop. It's so refreshing to see emotions and feelings of young people validated in a contemporary environment and in such a real and direct way! This author writes the characters int the same way you would get to know them: you learn more and more as you get to know them but you don't suddenly understand everything, the same way we don't know everything about our friends in real life. I will always always recommend this book; it doesn't take the easy route and give a happy ending where it doesn't feel natural. The story may be tragic but it is also wholesome and heart-warming and just a really worthwhile experience. So happy I read this when I did. I feel like thi is definitely a book a young adult would love to read.
