This is the most beautiful and heart warming book I have ever read.
The story follows a young teen who becomes intrigued with the new girl at his school. She is mysterious, keeps to herself. Only wearing boy’s clothes and using a crutch she draws attention at her school - and not always the positive type.
Both main characters are written in such a realistic yet interesting way. The mysterious new-girl vibe was explored in a sensitive and enhancing way.
The writing style is simplistic and uses metaphorical poetry that reflects the characters’ individuality, yet it remains realistic to that of you adult/teens
The book brings focus to important aspects of suppressed mental health struggles in a responsible and powerful way. I found the way in which the author handled trauma realistic and original way.
