A modern romance that's not really a modern romance, this book looks at and addresses several topics in a thought provoking and detailed manner. The main protagonist is likable, though it's Grace who instantly stole my affections. Sharp, witty, and yet undeniably broken, Sutherland does an excellent role of showing that even the strongest of us can have our hearts broken.
There are enough twists and turns in the novel keep the story just as fast paced as it needs to be, and yet just enough that it doesn't feel as though you've been put through your paces by reading. As Sutherland's debut, this book reaches standards that many young adult fiction novels can only hope to reach. I can't wait to see what Sutherland writes next.
