A brilliant story about the idea of love, grief and friendship. I absolutely fell in love with the characters in Our Chemical Hearts because of how realistic and human they were <3
You know when you start a book & from a few pages in, you just know you're going to fall in love with it? That happened to me with Our Chemical Hearts.
Henry is a movie/tv nerd who uses countless references from both mediums to describe any situation (yes mine are out of control too) He has never fallen in love. Expecting it to appear with a classic pop love song & wind blown hair, Grace catches him by surprise. But love has nothing to do with stereotypes, at least not the kind of extraordinary love which Henry craves for.
Grace is enigmatic,the intriguing kind of strange & badass in the way a person who doesn't take any shit is, and speaks their mind even if it rubs people the wrong way. What happened to her that she would need a cane? Why was she so obviously "punishing" her appearance & maybe in that way herself?
