I'm never quite sure what I'm going to get in a romance. Some are sickly sweet; some are too fast paced, so the characters seem to fall in love over a long weekend. Some are so drawn out I lose interest by the time anything happens. This one, however, was paced just right. Believable, interesting characters who had full personalities, not just ciphers created to fill a need in the story. Interesting - and occasionally heartbreaking - plots. An ending that showed we can all keep going when we need to.
I liked the pop culture references. It's always fun picking up on them, and I like reading other reviews to see which ones I missed. I do worry that they'll date the book, though, making it meaningless in a few years to new readers. Overall, though, I enjoyed this and I'll watch out for others by her. Thank you for the chance to read it.
