This was a really heartfelt read! I love contemporary YA romances but they often feel over the top or just unrealistic. Especially with their dialogue which always feels forced and weird. This wasn’t the case with this book! The conversations actually sounded like real teens. I loved the format of this book as it included texts and emails too, which also sounded real. The phone messages mirrored the way teens text and didn’t make me cringe — a success!!
The characters were lovable and it was a pretty unique YA contemporary and I really liked it for that! I would definitely read more by this author. She made me feel a whole range of emotions during this book, both highs and lows, and that's what I love in a book - concluding with a bittersweet ending.
