This book was addictive. The way Sutherland told this story was dazzling. I was engrossed from the start and it was impossible to put down. The characters were surprisingly, and weirdly, wonderful. If you love getting deeply involved with characters, this book is the one. I loved the quirkiness and the way it wasn’t your ‘typical love story’, instead how love is heart-wrenchingly complicated. A heartfelt book which really makes you think, and gives you a new perspective. Our Chemical Hearts explodes with wit, a heart wrenching plot and brutal honesty. It’s a compelling story which you don’t know how it’s going to end, until it ends. It is raw, poignant, hopeful and moving, and it is, in an interesting way, inspiring. While Grace was difficult and frustrating, her character really dawned on me and I couldn’t help but feel her sadness. This book is a must-read for YA fiction fans.
