The mystery of Grace is what first draws in the readers and Henry. Not he typical high school girl, walking with a cane, wearing baggy clothes and generally keeping to herself with the exception of editing the newspaper. As they slowly become closer and questions are answered the heart breaking mystery that is Grace is unravelled and the consequences of past actions become apparent a sombre mood takes over the mysterious tone. Now a film the book has attracted more attention however my interest for this book began before the mention of this film. A title of 'Our chemical Hearts' with a cover depicting fish first drew me in with there seeming to be no real reason for this artistic choice however, after reading this book the fish now hold a special place in my heart as a reminder of the consequences of life and the affects on other people as well as allowing readers to connect with the book in a different way after completion.
