Sutherland’s writing flowed incredibly well and towards the end, portrayed the feeling of pain and grief impeccably for a young audience. It was so heartbreaking and done in such a graceful way, being able to read about these teenagers go through different types of experiences and traumas and work their way through them.
This is one of the quotes that I particularly loved: “I considered tacking an x onto the end of the message, but I didn’t quite know if we were at that level yet, and the thought of the x not being reciprocated was enough to discourage me from typing the x, so I didn’t.” And here's another one: “I can't pretend to be all better because that's what you want.”
This story was heartwarming, sometimes poignant, and yet realistic, which is not something you can say about every teenage romance story. I would recommend it to literally anyone.
